Automatic Pallet Wrappers from Whittaker Packaging Solutions
A fully automatic pallet wrapper does one job: take a pallet off the line, wrap it, cut and weld the film, and release it for despatch without an operator touching the load. If you wrap 80 or more pallets a day, or run shifts where an operator standing at the wrapper costs real money, this is the category to look at.

The range
Automatic pallet wrappers we supply
Fully automatic attach, cut and weld and remote-operated wrappers for higher-throughput lines, backed by local service.
Whittaker Packaging Solutions (WPS) supplies automatic pallet wrappers into FMCG, food production, third-party logistics, warehousing and contract packing sites across South East Queensland, Toowoomba and Melbourne. We specify and install them as part of an integrated line, not a drop-in catalogue item.
Why WPS
Why an automatic pallet wrapper with Whittaker Packaging Solutions
Talk to the WPS team before buying an automatic pallet wrapper, because the wrong machine on a high-volume line is expensive three ways at once: film cost climbs, throughput stalls when the unit jams, and labour ends up babysitting a machine that was meant to remove a person from the loop.
We size automatic wrappers around the real numbers from your floor: pallets per day, peak pallets per hour, load weight, load height, film force-to-load tolerance and the loading method on either side. We also confirm the environment, because cold rooms, wet areas and polished concrete each change what infeed and ringfeed hardware will hold up over time.
Then we run the maths on film. A well-tuned power pre-stretch automatic unit can elongate film up to 250%, which over 12 months of high-volume wrapping pays for the gap between an entry machine and a serious one.

How a fully automatic pallet wrapping machine works
Most automatic pallet wrappers in this category use a rotary-arm or ring design, both built on the same principle: the load stays still, the film carriage moves. That removes the load-spin instability you get on heavier, taller or unbalanced pallets and lets you push wrap cycles faster without throwing the load.
What a production-grade auto pallet wrapper typically includes
Conveyor infeed and outfeed (powered or gravity)
Photo-eye load detection for height + top sheet trigger
Auto film attach to the bottom of the load
Auto cut and weld at the end of the wrap cycle
Top sheet dispenser (option, where loads need moisture protection)
Reinforced corner roping for unstable loads
Programmable wrap patterns by SKU or load type
The pre-stretch carriage is the most important specification to get right. Power pre-stretch carriages use two geared rollers to elongate film before it touches the load; mechanical brake carriages rely on tension drag and stretch it far less. For high-throughput automatic use, power pre-stretch is the standard recommendation.
What information we need to recommend the right unit
Before recommending an automatic pallet wrapper, the WPS team asks for the following:
Pallets per day (average and peak)
Maximum load weight, height and footprint
Minimum load dimensions (small loads need film attach configured for them)
Loading method on the infeed side (powered conveyor, forklift onto deck, transfer car)
Whether you need a top sheet dispenser
Whether you need integrated scales
Product type and stack stability
Operating environment (cold room, ambient, wet area)
Power available at the install location
Send those details through and we can scope the right configuration without a site visit in most cases. For larger lines, we recommend an on-site validation visit before a formal proposal.
Service and backup across SEQ, Toowoomba and Melbourne
Whittaker Packaging Solutions provides full service, preventative maintenance and breakdown support across South East Queensland, Toowoomba and Melbourne. Typical breakdown response is 24-48 hours during business hours, especially in our key service hubs.
For sites in Northern NSW or Regional QLD (Roma, Bundaberg), we supply and deliver automatic wrappers and run scheduled or FIFO service visits where it fits. Talk to us early before locking in a machine specified for full on-site support.
Delivery, installation, commissioning and operator training are included as part of the sale price on our own-brand machines.

Talk to us about your line
Send us your application details and we will come back with a configured spec sheet, including pre-stretch carriage choice, cycle time estimates and a film-cost projection against your current setup.
FAQs
Common questions
A semi-automatic wrapper requires an operator to attach the film tail at the start of each cycle and cut it at the end. A fully automatic pallet wrapper handles film attach, wrap, cut and weld without an operator. Once a load arrives on the infeed, the cycle runs by itself.
